BAUXITE AVAILABILITY FROM SCABAL
Saurashtra region in Gujarat State is a large source of high quality bauxite
in India. Saurashtra Calcine Bauxite & Allied Industries Ltd. (SCABAL)
has been in bauxite business as a family concern since 1952/54 and was established
as a partnership Co. in 1974, and converted into Public Ltd. Co. in 1995
with reserve and paid up capital of 2.5 million dollars.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The Company has acquired 27 mining leases, having total area of about 170 hectares, over & above 60 hectares being possessed in name of its associated company as well a fresh application for about 40 hectares to Govt. during 2000. Especially for purposes of manufacturing of calcined bauxite, the company has started a Rotary Kiln Plant at Bhatia village 2 Kms from Harshad-Bhatia Road (Jamnagar District), in the year 1996 with output capacity of 120 MT per day. The location is about 100 kms from Port Okha/Porbunder. It is regularly supplying to the abrasives and refractory industries. In turn their products are being substantially used in the steel, non-ferrous metals, cement, glass and other industries.
QUALITY CONTROL
SCABAL is equipped with ultra modern laboratory, inclusive of X-ray analyser,
complete pilot scale Lab crushing plant, spectrophotometer connected with
computer, highly accurate electronic balance with 0.001 gm accuracy, as
well as highly experienced, qualified stuff for testing round the clock.
