Refractories producers in India and IRMA extend a cordial welcome ! IRMA stands for the Indian Refractory Makers Association. It is the national organisation for the refractory manufacturing companies in India. It was set up in 1958. There are currently 65 manufacturing units in the membership of IRMA. These units produce a wide range of insulating, abrasion- resistant and corrosion-resistant refractories, ranging from firebricks, insulating refractories to a wide variety of high alumina, silica, magnesite and speciality refractories. These products are regularly used in the construction and operation of steel plant blast furnaces, coke ovens, basic oxygen furnaces and electric arc furnaces, cement rotary kilns, glass melting furnaces, non-ferrous metal smelters, petrochemical plants and so on. In addition, there are 19 Associate member companies producing raw materials, additives/binders, equipment and testing apparatus, and consultancy agencies used by the refractories industry. IRMA provides a range of advisory and representational services to its members. It also extends information and data-bank services on refractories specifications, applications in different kilns and furnaces to others interested. To know more about refractories from India having high temperature insulating properties and able to withstand erosion and corrosion in different types of kilns and furnaces, check out the links "More on refractories", "Typical refractories specifications" as given below.
